Synopsis

As Wendy and Marvin clean up after Kid Devil’s party, Ravager is attempting to meditate when she is suddenly attacked by Copperhead of the Terror Titans.  Elsewhere, Robin visits Wonder Girl to tell her that Kid Devil has been missing for several days.  Meanwhile, Persuader captures Wendy and Marvin and then goes to help Copperhead.  However, Ravager is able fight them off, even Deadbolt arrives to help out.  Ravager frees Wendy and Marvin, telling them to leave the tower.  When they get outside, they call Robin and then send him a picture of Titans tower exploding.

Review by Binkley (e-mail)

For whatever reason, I have always liked Ravager and I thoroughly was psyched about her role as a new member of the Teen Titans.  I thought Johns handled her character very well, but McKeever’s first story arc seemingly forgot about her.  This issue changes that and I like the way Ravager is portrayed here, as a woman who can kick ass but still has daddy issues.  More importantly, I liked the fact that McKeever makes no bones that she is very loyal, both to Kid Devil and to the Titans, despite any way that she may act towards both.  I also liked the fact that even three of the Terror Titans could not take her down and that she ended the battle on her own terms (seemingly blowing up the Titans tower thanks to her non-lethal swords).

Another reason to like this issue is the way Mckeever is going about building up the threat of the Terror Twins, both in terms of the story and the plot structure.  It makes sense for one group to go about dismantling another group one by one rather than a full group attack and by doing it this way, it gives McKeever a chance to spotlight certain characters (like Ravager) and give them time for the readers to get to know them better.  Hopefully we’ll see a few more issues like this one before the final battle between the two groups.

Interesting that the first speech box for Wonder Girl has a little star to it while Robin’s first text box got no such symbol.  Don’t know what it means, but it is interesting.
