Synopsis
In Prague, Green Arrow and Black Canary work undercover to find any clue that might lead them to the one who shot and then kidnapped Connor Hawke. They believe it came from a cloaked ship of some kind and were able to track down the ones who have the ship, but the deal goes south and the dealers get away. The next day, the ship attacks them. However, Green Arrow is able to hit it with a few explosive arrows and send it crashing to the ground. When they approached the flyers inside, they find aliens.

“Not like this thing is going to fly up behind us and honk.”
This was a really, really fun issue and the type of thing that Winick and Chiang should be doing more often with this series. Sadly, Winick is still hampered by the shooting and kidnapping of Connor Hawke so unfortunately the action and the humor gets interlaced with the pathos and it doesn’t quite jell into a cohesive whole. I know I have said it before, but the Connor Hawke situation was not the right way to re-boot this series. This issue right here, without Ollie’s emotional moment to remind us of the underlying situation, however, is exactly the way to reboot this series. Essentially, it is about a happily married couple who wisecrack and fight (each other and bad guys) their way through crime solving. It is not that difficult of a concept.
Given the fact that this is the DC universe and Earth has had its share of alien invaders, I am surprised that there is no mention of the possible different types of techs available. From Thanagarian to even Apokoliptan, you’d think that Ollie and Hal would at least have some sort of discussion on where they think the ship came from.
