Synopsis

On the prison planet, Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman) is trapped inside a machine that makes her think she is in Gotham with the ability to do whatever she wants.  When Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, and the Flash confront her, she easily takes down all three of them.  The Martian Manhunter tries to convince her it is not real.  Although she is happy in the make-believe world, she realizes that she needs to return to the real world.  She tells herself she is dreaming and she awakens.

Review by Binkley (e-mail)

As I had said last review, the proverbial rug was pulled from out underneath my feet in terms of the reality of Selina’s situation and I think this issue shows exactly why such a thing should not be attempted.  By the time we reach the end of the issue, we’ve just come to the realization that the story lacks any sort of depth or substance to it.  There were no ramifications or repercussions to Selina’s actions; she managed to defeat fur of the biggest and baddest heroes in the world, but doesn’t have to deal with that moment the next time she sees Superman.  Even Selina's struggle with her subconscious lacks any drama; she makes up her mind pretty quickly to abandon her dream world and it doesn’t take too much effort for her to “wake up.”  So, overall, the story was a nice diversion with some good moments (Pfeifer and Lopez do a great job with Selina taking down the heroes), it ultimately was nothing more than what I just said it was:  a nice diversion.

Stupid question:  why is Blue Devil in the group of heroes that confront Catwoman.  You can see members of the JLA, JSA, and Teen Titans, so all of those make sense.  But no other member of Shadowpact, other than Blue Devil.
