More and more I am having difficulty with this title.  Maybe it is because I don’t get the main Legion book, but I always feel like I am only reading part of the story and this issue is no exception.  It is not bad, per se, but it feels incomplete, like there is more and I am just missing it.

Addendum:  I decided this would be the last review, even though I continued to get this book for a few more issues before dropping it.  Basically, I am not enough of a Legion fan to continue and with the decision by DC to drop the second features, there was no reason to continue bying a book in which I lacked any interest in the main cast of characters.

Nucleus, Part 6:  Weapons of Mass Reduction

Written by Jeff Lemire

Art by Mahmud Asrar and John Dell

Synopsis

Ray Palmer (aka Atom) and his Uncle Dave are inside a miniature “safe room”, created by Dave for humankind in case of a threat to the planet.  However, an attack by the Colony left the Atom’s powers disabled.  Working together, they are able to piece together the belt to grow in size and leave the safe room.  They are immediately attacked by the Colony. They fight back, but are subdued.  They demand to know where Ray keeps the White Dwarf Matter.  If he doesn’t tell them, they will kill Ray’s father.

Review

This was okay.  There really was nothing special to it and not much happened.  Essentially, the past six or so issues have essentially been a circuitous loop to get us back to where we pretty much were at the beginning:  Ray’s father being used to leverage Ray to give up the White Dwarf Matter.  I guess the decision to remove the second feature from the books is the reason for the special to end this story.
